Okay, here's my tattoo idea adventure, Alice in Wonderland style!

Alright, so I've been itching for a new tattoo for ages. This time, I wanted something whimsical, something that really screamed "me." After bouncing around a few ideas, Alice in Wonderland just clicked. But I didn't want a straight-up Disney-fied version. I wanted something a little more… twisted, maybe?

First thing I did, naturally, was dive down the rabbit hole of Pinterest and Google Images. I spent a solid afternoon just scrolling, saving anything that even remotely caught my eye. We’re talking everything: quotes, illustrations from the original book, character designs, even just color palettes that felt right.

Next up: narrowing things down. I quickly realized I didn't want a full-on scene. Too busy, too much detail for what I was imagining. I started focusing on key symbols and characters. The Cheshire Cat's grin? Definitely a contender. The Mad Hatter's hat? Maybe. The White Rabbit's pocket watch? Intriguing.

I spent ages sketching! I am no artist, trust me. But I just needed to get the ideas out of my head and onto paper. Rough sketches, stick figures, whatever. The point was to play around with different compositions and see what felt good. I tried the Cheshire Cat's grin fading in and out of a tree branch, the pocket watch with the quote "We're all mad here" swirling around it, even a tiny Alice falling down the rabbit hole incorporated into a larger floral design.

  • Researched tattoo artists in my area.
  • Looked at their portfolios online.
  • Read reviews.

Finally, the Tattoo!

The day of the appointment was nerve-wracking, as always! But my artist was super chill. We talked through the design one last time, made a few minor tweaks to the size and placement, and then… ink time!

I ended up with the White Rabbit's pocket watch on my forearm, with a subtle, swirling design around it. The time is set to 6:00 (because, why not?). It's simple, it's clean, and it’s exactly what I wanted. I am so stoked with how it turned out!
